Ahoy Mateys! … Thank you for makingPort Royal, the Pirates Realm,the 11th annual Swashbuckler Ball on Thursday, February 25, 2010 a great success! Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center was truly transformed into our own Port Royal, and it was an exciting evening filled with piratical fun and frolic. Grog and grub, entertainment, games, raffles and contests were enjoyed by all.
Pirates and Bonnie Lasses found treasure at the Live and Silent Auctions with Auctioneer Scott Robertson and Emcee, Harry MacArthur of Harry and the Natives, presiding. The enthusiastic crowd donated generously for Executive Director, Mark Perry, to "walk the plank" into the chilly Lagoon to benefit the Summer Camp and educational programs at Florida Oceanographic. Many danced and enjoyed the music of Gigi King & Latimer Street.
The Swashbuckler Ball is Florida Oceanographic’s major fundraiser and supports our mission to inspire environmental stewardship of Florida’s coastal ecosystems through education and research.
