Cris Wagner creates and manages educational programs for classrooms and home schools. An educator with experience in the public schools, research centers and Sea World, Cris introduces the public to marine science through curricula, camps, activities, and exhibits at FOS.

 

Cris is helping FOS increase its involvement with the community through new outreach programs and expanded exhibits. She is also part of efforts to make FOS a national and international resource for research, learning and environmental advocacy.

 

About Wagner

 

Education

  • Master of Arts in Unified Elementary Education with a Specialization in Math and Science, University of Florida.
  • B.A., Elementary Education, University of Florida.

Professional Experience

  • Director of Education and Exhibits at Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center, with responsibility for all educational activities through FOS and the Coastal Center.
  • Read 180 Coach in the Fort Pierce School System, with added responsibility as Co-Chair of the Math/Science Committee.
  • Instructor, Sea World Orlando, introducing the many educational aspects of the park to individuals of various age levels. 
  • Teacher, Orlando School System, with recognition through Disney’s Teacherrific Award program. 
  • Marine Science Instructor, Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution, planning group visits to Harbor Branch and teaching various marine science related topics.
